ATmega640/1280/1281/2560/2561 Summary | file size: 1.05MB , 40 pages , revision P , updated: 10/2012 |
MCU Wireless chipset for IEEE 802.15.4 and ZigBee® applications. It is a bundle of the Atmel ATmega1280 AVR and AT86RF231 radio in the worldwide 2.4GHz frequency band.
The ATmega1280 is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, the ATmega1280 achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz allowing the system designer to optimize power consumption versus processing speed. It has 128KB in-system self-programmable flash, 86 programmable I/O lines, four 8-bit and 12 programmable PWM channels, 16-channel 10-bit ADC, and four programmable serial USART.
The AT86RF231 is a rich feature, low-power 2.4GHz transceiver designed for industrial and consumer IEEE 802.15.4, ZigBee and 6LoWPAN applications. It is a true SPI-to-antenna solution providing a complete radio transceiver interface between the antenna and the microcontroller. All RF-critical components are integrated on a single chip minimizing the number of required external components to the antenna, crystal and decoupling capacitors.
