MCU Wireless chipset for targeted for IEEE802.15.4, ZigBee®, RF4CE, SP100, WirelessHART™ and ISM applications is a bundle of the Atmel AVR ATmega644 microcontroller and Atmel AT86RF230 transceiver radio in the worldwide 2.4GHz frequency band.
The ATmega644 is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, the ATmega644 achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz allowing the system designer to optimize power consumption versus processing speed.
The AT86RF230 is a low-power 2.4GHz transceiver designed for low cost IEEE802.15.4, ZigBee®, RF4CE, SP100, WirelessHART™ and ISM applications. It is a true SPI-to-antenna solution providing a complete radio transceiver interface between the antenna and the microcontroller. All RF-critical components are integrated on a single chip minimizing the number of required external components to the antenna, crystal and decoupling capacitors.
