The MCP1602 Evaluation Board demonstrates Microchip’s MCP1602 device. This device is a 500 mA, 2.0 MHz PFM/PWM Step-down DC/DC regulator. The device features a power good output to monitor the tightly controlled DC/DC regulator’s output voltage. System efficiency is maximized by the implementation of both a PFM (Pulse Frequency Modulation) and a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) mode of operation. This makes the MCP1602 perfectly suited for battery powered application. The evaluation board features an adjustable version of the MCP1602. The available output voltage options are: 0.8V, 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V.
