AMS2596 series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all the active functions for a step-down (buck) switching regulator with internal compensation and soft start capable of driving a 3A load with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in adjustable voltage and fixed output voltages of 1.25V to 7V in 100mV increments. The AMS2596 require a minimum number of external components and simple to use. AMS2596 operates at a switching frequency of 175 kHz thus allowing smaller sized filter components than what would be needed with lower frequency switching regulators. AMS2596 series are available in 8-Lead SOIC, 5-Lead TO-252, and a 5-Lead TO-220/TO-263 packages。
